“Once Upon A December” from the musical “Anastasia” is a song that introduces the listener into a magical world. Its he sensitivity is twined with a special melodic inspiration in a waltz dancing rhythm. The arrangement is written in ¾, in the key of B minor and with the tempo indication “Moderato et misterioso”. Throughout the piece arranged for the guitar, the structure of the original text is followed as accurately as possible. Thus, the score comprises 3 sections preceded by an introductory fragment: section “A” in the key B minor, section “B” in the key of C minor and section C in the key of C # minor. In the original song, the theme is sung in turn by the main character “Anastasia” and by the choir, so the score specifies the place where these interventions take place. The guitar version preserves the atmosphere of the original song, offering the most suitable fingerings for the instrument.
